Modified Bitumen Roofing
Your experts in commercial roof systemsWHY MODIFIED BITUMEN ROOFING?
Modified bitumen systems are most commonly used in low-slope roofing but are also suitable for steeper slopes. Modifiers are added to standard roofing asphalt to replace plasticizers removed during the distillation process.
The two most common types are styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) and attactic polypropylene (APP). SBS, typically a two-ply system with overlapping rolls, offers more expansion and contraction flexibility. A key benefit of an APP system is the longevity it affords.
