WHY standing seam metal roofing?

Owens Roofing Inc. is a trusted leader in standing seam metal roofing, known for its expert craftsmanship, high-quality service, and precision installation. With decades of experience, ORI works with top architects and engineers to deliver durable, weather-resistant, and energy-efficient roofing solutions to a diverse range of building owners.

Standing seam metal roofing is a concealed fastener system characterized by vertical or trapezoidal legs with flat spaces between them. It’s known for being one of the most durable and weather-tight roofing options available. The design hides the fasteners, protecting them from environmental damage, which could otherwise lead to their failure over time. These panels are attached to the roof deck using clamps, which avoid the need for holes that could allow moisture to penetrate.

Our commitment is to getting the job done with zero impact on your daily operations.

A standing seam metal roof is one of the most durable and high-performance roofing options available, making it a popular choice for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. Here are the key benefits:

Benefits

Exceptional Durability & Longevity

Lasts 40+ Years – Standing seam metal roofs have a much longer lifespan compared to traditional shingles or flat roofing systems.

Resistant to Harsh Weather – Withstands high winds, heavy rain, hail, and even snow loads better than other roofing materials.

Corrosion & Rust Resistant – Coated with protective finishes (such as Galvalume or Kynar 500®) to prevent rust and corrosion.

Superior Leak Prevention

No Exposed Fasteners – Unlike traditional metal roofs, standing seam systems have concealed fasteners, reducing the risk of leaks and corrosion.

Watertight Design – The raised seams prevent water infiltration, making it an ideal solution for rainy or snowy climates.

Low Maintenance Requirements

Minimal Upkeep – Unlike asphalt shingles that need frequent replacement, metal roofing requires little maintenance.

Fade & Crack Resistant – Advanced coatings prevent fading, chalking, and cracking over time.

Energy Efficiency & Sustainability

Reflects Solar Heat – Reduces cooling costs by reflecting sunlight instead of absorbing heat like asphalt shingles.

Compatible with Insulation – Works well with additional insulation layers, further improving energy efficiency.

Environmentally Friendly – Often made from recycled materials and is 100% recyclable at the end of its lifespan.

Sleek, Modern Aesthetic

Clean & Contemporary Look – Offers a seamless, architectural appearance that enhances curb appeal.

Multiple Color & Style Options – Available in various colors, finishes, and panel profiles to match any design preference.

Increased Property Value

High ROI – Standing seam metal roofs increase a property’s value due to their durability, energy efficiency, and longevity.

Insurance Benefits – Some insurers offer discounts due to metal roofing’s fire resistance and impact protection.

Solar Panel & Retrofit Applications

Easy Solar Panel Integration – The concealed fastener system allows for secure and seamless solar panel attachment.

Great for Retrofits – Can be installed over existing roofing systems with minimal structural modifications.

Standing Seam Metal Roof Systems:

Owens Roofing Inc can install both snap lock and mechanically field-seamed panels. Snap-lock panels are a standing seam system that is secured to the roof deck with clips that allow for the thermal movement of roofing panels. Mechanically seamed panels are similar to snap-lock panels, however, the clips securing them in place must be crimped together with a machine or by hand. There are four basic standing seam metal roof systems:
=

Double Lock Seam: This system involves panels that are mechanically seamed together, where the seams are locked by crimping the edges of adjacent panels together, providing a secure and weather-tight joint.

=

Symmetrical Seam: This type features panels that are mechanically seamed in a way that the seam is symmetrical, offering a uniform look and robust connection. The seaming process ensures a tight, weather-resistant seal.

=

One-Piece Snap-Lock Interlock: In this system, the panels are designed with a one-piece interlock mechanism where the seam is formed by snapping the panels together. This method provides a seamless appearance and is easier to install compared to some other methods.

=

Two-Piece Snap-Lock Interlock: Similar to the one-piece system, but here the interlock involves two pieces that snap together to form the seam. This can offer additional flexibility or strength depending on the design, ensuring a durable and aesthetically pleasing roof.

Owens Roofing Inc will work with you to choose the best panel type depending on climate, building structure, budget, and aesthetic preferences.
